In the spirit of the giving season, Envista Federal Credit Union is doing its part to support Kansas families experiencing food insecurity. From November 5 through November 21, Envista invited members, staff, and community partners to participate in a multi-branch food drive, collecting shelf-stable, nonperishable items to help local food pantries meet rising demand.
Together, the community donated 869 pounds of food in Topeka, providing immediate support to families facing hardship. Envista also contributed $500 worth of food to the Food Bank of Reno County, extending the impact across our broader service areas. In Lawrence, donations were collected in partnership with the Lawrence Schools Foundation’s Adopt a School Pantry program, ensuring essential items reached students and families in every school throughout the community.
“This time of year reminds us how important it is to care for one another,” said Val Williams, VP of Marketing at Envista Federal Credit Union. “At Envista, giving back isn’t something we do occasionally — it’s part of who we are. When our neighbors are struggling, we step in and help. We’re grateful for the generosity of our members and staff who made this food drive such a success.”
Envista launched the initiative in response to ongoing disruptions to food assistance programs, which have left many families with fewer resources heading into the winter months. By collecting donations and matching community contributions, Envista aimed to help fill the gap during a critical season.
“Our mission has always been to find meaningful ways to serve our members and our communities,” said Ron Smeltzer, CEO of Envista Federal Credit Union. “Whether it’s through financial tools, volunteerism, or supporting local nonprofits, we believe in being there when people need it most.”
The food drive is part of Envista’s longstanding commitment to community support, including its EnvistaCares program and partnerships with organizations focused on improving quality of life for Kansas families.
