Envista Federal Credit Union Awards $3,000 to Lawrence Schools Through "Cash for Class" Initiative

Envista Federal Credit Union has awarded $3,000 to three Lawrence schools through its Cash for Class initiative, following a high-energy community vote at the annual Taste of Lawrence event on November 6.

As the presenting sponsor of the event, Envista invited attendees to step inside the Envista Money Machine — a whirlwind, 30-second cash-grab experience that turned fundraising into friendly competition. Each dollar grabbed inside the machine counted as one vote for a Lawrence school of the participant’s choice. The three schools earning the most votes each received a $1,000 check from Envista to support classroom needs and student success.

This year’s top schools were:

  • St. John Catholic School & Preschool – Check delivered Monday, November 17
  • Sunset Hill Elementary School – Check delivered Wednesday, November 19
  • Cordley Elementary School – check delivered Tuesday, December 2

“We love being part of a community that rallies behind its schools,” said Valerie Williams, Vice President of Marketing at Envista Federal Credit Union. “Cash for Class is a fun, meaningful way to shine a light on educators and students in Lawrence. The energy at Taste of Lawrence is always incredible, and to turn that excitement into real dollars for local classrooms makes it even better.”

Taste of Lawrence, hosted by The Chamber of Lawrence, is an annual celebration highlighting local food, business connections, and community impact. Envista’s interactive Money Machine has become a crowd favorite, drawing long lines and enthusiastic supporters eager to give their school a boost.

“At Envista, we believe in finding a way for every community to thrive,” Williams added. “Investing in schools is investing in the future of Lawrence, and we’re honored to play a small part in that.”

Envista continues to support education and community partnerships across Douglas County through financial literacy programs, classroom engagement, school-based initiatives, and charitable giving.
