TOPEKA, KS, May 14, 2026 — Envista Federal Credit Union is proud to continue its support of Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy's Theatre for Young Audiences (TYA) student matinee program, helping nearly 900 children from at-risk schools across Topeka experience the power of live theatre, many for the very first time.
Through Envista's ticket sponsorship, students attend special TYA matinee performances at no cost. Productions are carefully selected for their meaningful, positive messages and their ability to spark creativity, imagination, and academic growth.
Beyond the performance itself, students also take home a book tied to the show through Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy's "Read the Book, See the Show" initiative. By pairing live storytelling with reading, the program deepens students' understanding of both the material and the theatrical experience, reinforcing lessons that extend well beyond the stage.
"At Envista, we believe every child in our community deserves access to experiences that inspire and uplift them," said Val Williams, Vice President of Marketing. "Supporting the TYA program is a natural extension of our mission. When we invest in young people, we invest in the future of our community overall."
The need for programs like this is significant. Approximately 90% of students attending the matinees have never seen a live theatre production before, and nearly 75% qualify for free or reduced lunch. Envista's support helps remove financial barriers that prevent many children from accessing arts and educational experiences.
The "Read the Book, See the Show" initiative has also been made possible through grants and contributions from community partners, all dedicated to literacy and youth development across the Topeka area.
Envista Federal Credit Union remains committed to investing in programs that strengthen education, community connection, and opportunity for local youth, and looks forward to continuing its partnership with Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy in the seasons ahead.
